Still feeling rotten but cheered by these videos from Saturday. I've been trying to upload them to Facebook all day to no avail so I'll try here. The beautiful panorama from the top of Pilatus accompanied by the sound of the Alpine horn (and an annoying man who kept shouting at his Dad!), and the music makers themselves.

This was the view from the Zürich - Baar train this morning. It was even more beautiful on the way home. I was reading and looked up to see the sun glinting on Zürichersee with the snow capped mountains in the background. Gorgeous.

I was looking at Google Doodles yesterday - the hurdler was causing no end of fun according to  Twitter! I saw that there was a doodle for the National Day in a variety of countries and was a bit bothered that Swiss National Day hadn't been graced with a doodle this year. So I looked back and sure enough, it has in previous years. And here they are. My favourite is the bottom right with the mountains and flag.

I went on a chairlift today.
For most of you, that's nothing. For me it's a big deal as I have really bad vertigo and go dizzy standing on a chair let alone when my legs are waving in the air above the ground.
I did it however, and am very pleased that I did as I had a marvellous time coming back down the mountain at Atzmännig on a toboggan on the Rodelbahn.
Perhaps I might be able to ski after all...

The end of our holidays :O(

Two photographs today.

We took a trip on the Jungfraubahn, celebrating 100 years this year, up the Jungfraujoch from Lauterbrunnen via Wengen and Kleine Scheidig. It was a very cloudy day but the sky atop the mountain was blue when we took this photo. 30 minutes later, visibility was virtually zero!

And I can't post today without a photograph of us watching the European Cup final in an Italian restaurant, PizPaz , in Interlaken. Didn't stop me shouting loudly for Spain!

Hurrah! I'm back in Interlaken once more! I'm particularly proud of this photograph, so tranquil after the stresses of an 8+ hour car journey, a child with car sickness who was then sick on arrival and moving from a luxury gîte to a tent!
