I'm in Geneva/Genève/Genf/Ginebra today and tomorrow for Apple Education Leadership Summit. I've had a great afternoon and evening, visiting CERN, listening to amazing inspiring speakers and a boat trip with dinner on the lake. And more tomorrow!

Meine Güte! I passed my TELC A2 German exam. Grade 1. And I got 98%!!!!! Dropped 2 marks on reading; full marks for the other parts.
I am utterly gobsmacked. I worked really hard but never expected to do so well. Sybille and Pilvi are brilliant teachers and Michel Thomas helped a little bit before I got here. Onward and upward - B1 next!

A familiar symbol with a different word.

Useful education vocabulary includes der Schule / Schuel - school, die Universität - University, das Gymnasium oder der Kantonschule - secondary school (like a grammar school). And I discovered an interesting thing. You can only studieren (study) at university. Until then the verb is lernen.

Extra image today is the Swiss education system - although as Sybille pointed out, no Kanton is the same as the next!
