I was looking at Google Doodles yesterday - the hurdler was causing no end of fun according to Twitter! I saw that there was a doodle for the National Day in a variety of countries and was a bit bothered that Swiss National Day hadn't been graced with a doodle this year. So I looked back and sure enough, it has in previous years. And here they are. My favourite is the bottom right with the mountains and flag.
London is getting ready for a weekend of celebrations for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee - here's Regents Street with flags across the street. Oxford Street is the same. It's red white and blue crazy! Made me feel quite patriotic. But then again, I love to see the Swiss flags, and the cantonal flags flying in Winterthur. I like people to be proud of the places they come from, and the places they live. This is my home for the foreseeable future and I'm proud to be here.
