My favourite lamp post in the park! Reminds me of Narnia but no sign of Mr Tumnus.

We went to Uetliberg today and this was the awesome view from the top. All my favourite things - mountains, lake, clouds and trees!

I woke up this morning to discover that the weight of the snow has broken branches from the trees around my home. I did wonder what the noise was about 6 this morning - probably people dragging the branches out of the road so cars could pass!

What a beautiful view!
I spent an hour teaching in that playground this morning - I say teaching, I was actually playing with play dough with some delightful 3 and 4 year olds! The cows didn't pop down the hill today but we could see them!

This is the view from the classroom in which I taught today.
Last time I was here, there were cows in the field beyond the fence. In fact, one of them was trying to get over the fence.
A little different to the view from most classroom windows I think!

Sometimes when I go for a run I wish I had a head camera to record the beauty of the scenery. I do however stop sometimes to take a Photospeak as it's just too pretty. this hasn't come out as well as it might but I loved the sky, the trees and the little castle.
Des arbres- trees
Un château - a castle
Le ciel - the sky
Les nuages - the clouds

Wandering in the woods near Bruderhaus Tierpark today, the boys spied a partially built shelter and set off to investigate. They were quite impressed with the shelter, especially when they discovered it has every 'convenience'. As Jude is indicating, the architect has his priorities right and fitted a toilet even before the walls are up.
The boys then proceeded to use it for pinecone throwing target practice!
to throw - werfen - rüärä
to play in the dirt - im Dreck spielen - dräcklä
toilet - die Toilette - Aabee, Hüüsli, Abtritt, WC, Oertli

A bird carved into a (dead!) tree - rather pretty.
Ich habe ein Häppchen vor dem Schläfen (oder ein Betthupferl) gegessen. I've had a goodnight snack (cornflakes!) or as they'd say here, Bettmümpfäli and am ridiculously tired so... Gute Nacht! Guäts Nachtli! Schlof guät!

Strictly speaking I didn't take this picture today (it was rainy and windy) but I've been saving it as I'd already posted the day I took it and it tickled me.
A little man on a cherry picker pruning a tree with a pair of secateurs. In England, he'd be using a chainsaw and cutting off whole branches if not the whole tree. Here it was individual twigs.
Today's German words / phrases are greetings. Don't forget, the Germab is in bold and the Swiss German in red.
guten Morgen - guete Morge - Good morning
guten Tag / Nachmittag- guete Namittag - Good afternoon
guten Abend - guete-n-Obig - Good evening
